It has been a crazy, exhilarating, whirlwind kind of week. It has been an exhausting weekend. To start: Monday night, I submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, otherwise known as the FAFSA, which led to… I am SO looking forward to the upcoming weekend. I’m heading to Delaware early Saturday morning so that Dad and I can go to a train show. We used to go to train shows all the time when I was a kid. My Dad had this amazing train display up in our attic, and we [...] My Mom amuses the hell out of me sometimes. Since I’m the only geek in the family, I’m constantly being asked to check this and fix that on her computer. I’m also asked to do all sorts of web searches, because Google is NOT my Mom’s friend. It’s like when she askes me, “Hon, does [...] I’m headed to Delaware this weekend to spend some time with my parents. My Mom and Dad have decided to replace their TV in the bedroom and get a flat-screen TV, and Dad’s been doing all kinds of research on the differences between LCD and plasma tvs. Mom’s convinced him to buy a bigger [...] At the beginning of the week, I was all ready to pack up my Eagle Creek luggage and head for the nearest hills. Nothing had been going right, and all I could think of was escaping somewhere peaceful, all by myself. Thankfully, the week ended on the highest of notes, although mid-week kind of sucked, as [...] I spoke to my Mom earlier today…she’s all done her first round of chemotherapy treatments. Yesterday, she got measured and scanned and scoped in preparation for her radiation treatments, so she had to call and tell me all about it. Thankfully, she’s pretty upbeat about the whole thing, even though she also just found out [...] I want to thank everybody for the outpouring of love and support for myself and for my Mom. Y’all are truly the best. Speaking of Mom, hubby and I headed to Delaware yesterday afternoon to surprise Mom for Mother’s Day weekend. Dad called just before we left, saying that he was taking Mom out [...] I know things have been exceedingly quiet around here lately. I’ve lost the motivation to blog, it would seem.
