Virginia Is For Lovers.

Ok, now I think it’s safe to do a weekend report. Yesterday’s thing was too important to be followed up by my ramblings, so I figured I save that for today. *grin*

Well, last Friday, the hubby and I both had off from work. We had decided early in the week that we were going to go to Natural Bridge, Virginia, and stay the night there on Friday. We actually had *reservations* at the main hotel there for Friday night! (Hubby and I are not the reservation-type people…when it comes to vacations and road trips, spontaneity rules!)

We had a FABULOUS time. The drive down to Natural Bridge was great…we wandered around Potomac Mills Mall for like three hours, took a very leisurely drive on Skyline Drive (snapping tons of pics…I have about eight rolls that need developing!), had dinner at an awesome restaurant called Pargo’s in Harrisonburg and got to Natural Bridge around 11 that night. Saturday we went to the Zoooooooooooo, then down into the caverns. After that, we spent two and a half hours walking the entire length of the trail under the Bridge to the waterfalls at the end. I’ll post the pictures as soon as I get them back.

We decided after walking the trail that we were going to stay till Sunday… unfortunately, there wasn’t a room to be had *anywhere*! Every place we stopped at was booked to the gills! So we stopped and ate dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Harrisonburg (incredible home cooked food!), spent a good bit of cash in their country store and headed home.

It was a great weekend! Beautiful scenery, fabulous food and great company. :)
