At the beginning of the week, I was all ready to pack up my Eagle Creek luggage and head for the nearest hills. Nothing had been going right, and all I could think of was escaping somewhere peaceful, all by myself.
Thankfully, the week ended on the highest of notes, although mid-week kind of sucked, as my 9 ball team lost in the semi-finals…by just a few balls. It was a REAL heart breaker, especially since it was my last game played with my team.
Wednesday night, my Dad called me…Mom had broken their computer, could I come up soon and fix it? I already had plans to go up there the weekend of the 22nd, but I knew if I didn’t make it up there and fix their computer before that that they’d end up killing each other. I told my Dad that I’d head up there Friday after work, but I had to be back home early on Saturday, because hubby and I had a date with a swimming pool.
Luckily, I conned the boss into letting me go at 3:15 on Friday, and I made it to my parents’ house in time for dinner. I had their computer fixed before I went to bed and left my parents strict instructions to run a couple of programs weekly to keep things running smoothly. I left their house at 11:15 AM and got home a little before 1.
I got hubby out of bed and we went over to his parents’ house and spent the day in the pool. It was absolutely FABULOUS, to say the least. I spent an hour napping on a float while hubby went over and cut his aunt and uncle’s lawn. When he was done, he got back in the pool and we spent the rest of the afternoon in the warm water. It was heavenly.
His parents got home from the beach and surprised us, as they weren’t supposed to be home until Sunday night. Hopefully, they didn’t see us doing anything naughty in the pool…heh.
We left his parents’ house with two huge pizzas, some fudge, and an early birthday card for me, since I didn’t know if we’d make it back over there before my birthday in two weeks. When we got home, we made up one of the pizzas and watched TV, and then we spent some serious quality time snuggling in bed.
Today has been spent recovering…I’m quite sunburned, and both of us are exhausted, so we’re headed off to bed in a few minutes.
This was definitely a weekend that I can look back on and smile about.
